20 Hour Intensive: Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga - A Path to Personal Development with David Gellineau

Primary Series - Yoga Chikitsa - Yoga Therapy

This Personal Development program is designed to bring greater awareness and understanding to the Primary Series, the therapeutic benefits of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga series and the exact science of the Vinyasa System. This is not a certification program, since only the K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute can grant authorization and certification to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Instead, this program will demonstrate that by a committed, consistent practice, a greater understanding and appreciation of this sophisticated yet simple yoga system is achieved, allowing practitioners to consistently evolve to their fullest potential on a physical, psychological and spiritual level.

Curriculum:
* Intention: Surya Namaskara A&B
* Creation: Standing Sequence
* Evolution: Seated postures
* Freedom: Back Bending
* Integration: Finishing Sequence
* Elements: Transitional movements,Vinyasa Counting, Full Vinyasas and Half Vinyasas.
* Attentiveness: Bandhas, Drishti and Oujaii Pranayama
* Parampara: Ashtanga Mantra-Opening Prayer, Mangala Mantra-Closing Prayer

As part of the 20 hour Intensive, practitioners will be encouraged to attend the Led Primary Series Class and one Mysore class at the Downward Dog In The Beach. Practitioners will also be invited and encouraged to participate in the Beach Mysore Program during the one week interval, to experience and reap the benefits of yoga therapy in it's purest form. Those who have completed their 200-hr Teacher Training, and are part of our 500-hr program can use these hours towards obtaining their Downward Dog Professional Level Certification.

Due to the in depth nature and the individual attention received in this course, class size will be limited to 15.
