Toronto Yoga Leaders: Heather Morton

Heather Morton

In part 1 of this four-part interview, Heather discusses her original motivation to begin practicing yoga, her early experience living and training in an ashram, and the beginnings of her transition into teaching yoga. At the time of this interview, Heather had been to India ten times to advance her yoga training.

She places high value on the evolutionary development of a student’s yoga practice as compared to the drop-in style of practice. She advocates taking the time to look into the background of a teacher and deciding for yourself whether this is the right person for you.

Heather holds a Masters of Education, a Bachelor of Education (Hons.) and a Fine Arts degree in theatre performance. She founded her studio, The Yoga Way, in 1997.

Check out part 2, part 3 and part 4 of this interview, or visit the profile for The Yoga Way. The Toronto Yoga Leaders series of articles showcases the people and places that shape the Toronto Yoga community.
